Can anyone check a copy of Excellence?

Bruce Anderson should have a market report in Excellence... I need to know what the range is for a 87 Carrera Cabriolet. Bidder at my auction bid 30k, but now he feels like he has overpaid. I am willing to work with him but have mixed feelings because he has not seen the car yet & it does come with a ton of extras...
Anyway, like I said, I am willing to work with him. I think if I take $1,000 off he will be happy. Sort of sucks also because I had another buyer who said he would pay the reserve. Problem is that guy is in CA and it would drag the whole deal out for who knows how long and if I write him at this point he will probably think I am full of crap or the car has something wrong with it!!
I am trying to come up with a fair discount. Please, unless you have seen my car do not attempt to appraise it. I am just looking for BA's range of values. THANKS!

I wouldn't do that - If I remember correctly BA had upper 20's on the limit for an 87 cab. I might be wrong - but I have been trying to keep abreast of cab prices.

According to the August 2002 Market Update:

1987 911 Cabriolet

poor - $20,344
good - $23,120
excellent - $30,950

Excellence August 2002 #112: 1987 Cab
Excellent $30,950 Good $23,120
Remember, 2002 prices. Good Luck

Huge difference between good and excellent! I stand corrected!

Thanks!

Should be a done deal if he was the high bidder. I wouldn't let him jerk you around. Email him to remind him that if he doesn't follow through you will pursue legal action to enforce the contract and recover damages.

I wouldn't get nasty, but I would remind him that he bid on an "excellent" car. I say this after reviewing the pics you've posted earlier, plus the ad. It's one damned nice cab, and it would take a very long search to find it's equal.

No, no- I want him to want the car.... I'm not going to push it on anyone. I did write my back-up buyer :)

30K in the current market is pretty high unless maybe it is a low miles ClubSport or something unusual. Some of the really, really low miles cars go for those prices, have no paint chips, perfect appearance with no defects, that sort of thing.

(and thanks Paul)
