Undoing a slant nose conversion

I have a 1975 911 Carrera that has a Golden Custom Coachworks slant nose conversion and 964 bumpers from sometime in the early 1990's. I want to convert this back to 'regular' fenders. My question is, will original fenders bolt right back on, or was the shape of the front tub (and hood) modified also with the Golden Custom Coachworks conversion?

If anyone has any experience with this, I would greatly appreciate your advice.

Thanks,http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1586816267.jpg

Personally.....I would sell it as-is. Buy one that suits your taste.

Sourcing 45 year old parts will be a chore.

Yes, I had to do something similar with a 72T that I converted back from a slant hood turbo. My car was butchered up in the front because it was converted from a long hood to a short slant hood, so I needed to put in a new front latch panel and add battery boxes. But I think in your case it might not be as bad. I would look inside the front hood and see if there are any modifications to the front. Hopefully not too much metal work will be required like in my case.

Wow. That is interesting. A slant nose that is not wide body. First time I see that.

YES, Original fenders should bolt right back on and you can keep the hood. The front section and hood should not have been modified... and Dave is a great source for the parts you'll need!

Are those SC flares in the back? If so, all you need is the front fenders, impact bumper... If they are turbo fenders you can get front turbo fenders, or get narrow body fenders and strip the turbo flares.

I think it looks a very good car that is going to be a GREAT car with the fender change. To make life easy you could leave the bumpers etc alone.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I appreciate the input.

@WPOZZZ--The rear fender flares are stock from the 1975 Carrera. The Carrera model had the rear fender flares and the 911S did not.

@Bill Douglas--Thanks, the car is in good shape. Absolutely no rust anywhere, rebuilt 3.2 engine with Weber carbs and dual plug ignition system, rebuilt 915 transmission, stock sport seats in new black leather with all new carpets and headliner. The car belonged to my dad who bought it used in 1976 and has owned it since. After a front end accident sometime around 1990 he had all the work done and the slant nose conversion put on, but he never reassembled the car. It had been sitting in a his aircraft hangar until last year when I got the car and all the parts to put it all back together.

It looks like he updated it to a C2 slant version. To make it period correct you only need a front bumper (possibly rear) front fenders, correct mirrors, (the areo mirrors you have go with the C2) ditch the rocker panels and a nice set of Fuchs. It would be a great looking car.
