The Poor Mans Leak Down Test

89 Carrera:

I had a leakdown test done on my 3.2 about a year ago so know what the results should be. Did a valve adjustment this weekend with the plugs in and it's interesting to feel how much compression varies when each cylinder is brought to TDC. #1 cylinder would make the belt slip and number 4 (with the lowest leak down numbers) would go to TDC almost effortlessly.

Just an observation I thought I would share.

Car runs perfectly and burns no oil though I know a top end attention is in its future.
