Header done for now

I finished my headers for now. I didn't enclose them for heat because I am sick of working on the car. Maybe I will do it later. Here is a pic of the headers and the new sump tankhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/headersdone1.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/turbo sump.jpg

Very nice work, Dean.

Dean
Looks great!
I am thinking of fabbing some headers and a silencer for my NA 3.2. Any ideas where I can get some Porsche specific info about header lengths and diameters?
Also I am thinking of putting the heater boxes on the pipe after the collector. Any comments anyone?
Thanks in advance
David

I'm no header guru, but I thought one of the purposes of headers was to try and get each individual exhaust pipe as equal in length as possible prior to the collector. Also, how did you decide how long to make the collector? I believe that the length of the collector can effect horsepower and torque.

Thanks guys. I think they weigh less than 20 lbs but I forget now. There is some info out on how to make headers for your car. I also think some software could tell you how to design headers. With a turbo it is not as important to have equal length primarys. In an ideal world it would be great to have them, but to make equal length primarys and enclose them and make them as short as possible and fit under the car would almost be impossible.

I do know that Burns Stainless will help you design headers for your car but they will probably charge a fee to do it.

wow blown those are totaly cool, you should think about building 3.6 headers with heat for the guys, Kevin
