out date clutch release bearing

I have a 2.7 engine with a 915 clutch assembly and release bearing installed.
will be using a 901 trans and release bearing on this 915 pressure plate.
question
can I remove the 915 release bearing and use the 901 clutch release bearing and fork with the 901 tran with a 915 pressure plate ????

No. The 901 is a push clutch, 915 is a pull style. A 70/71 type 911 trans is basically a 901 that is set up to use a pull style 915 clutch. Different fork and cable setup. Maybe that's what you need.

What year trans? A '70-'71 trans will work with a 915 pressure plate. A '69 and older trans used a different flywheel and PP than the 915.

BTW, the '70-'71 trans requires a unique clutch disc as well as the throw out bearing, cable, and release arm.

Yes, you really need to change everything. The 914 clutch is essentially the same as the early 2.0 911 clutch except for lower clamping force.
