On my 87 3.2, Where are the best points to do a vacuum smoke test?

If you have cruise control connect the hose from smoke machine to the vacuum port for the cruise servo where it connects to the power brake hose.

I also want to run a smoke test on my '87. What is the best method to close off the intake path? Does the air filter box need to come off? Thanks.
