Just made my 1st order w/ Pelican....
Just wanted to say thanks Wayne for a great site with good prices. Should be the norm on the 'net, but it isn't. First order on the website (also 1st Pelican order ever) and I must say everything looks good. I moved a couple of items off my project list right into the shopping basket, set my shippping, and they arrived yesterday...nice.
Looking forward to putting in the factory short shifter, new bushings, swepco along with a stomski coupler & your sport mounts. This website has made me a lot more knowledgeable about my car & your catalog has good prices. What more could a user ask for? My smoother shifting SC will all be because of Pelican...So I just wanted to say thanks again!

Cool deal, thanks for the words of encouragement! It must be war jitters or the bad economy, but some people have been just moaning and b**ching about the littlest things - I don't get it. I'm usually pretty thick skinned, but my patience has been tested lately.
Pelican's earned it's reputation for excellent customer service and support because Tom and I follow that motto completely. It all flows down from the top - we make sure that we train our new employees by having them watch us closely in how we deal with the customers. Thanks again! -Wayne

Pelican is a great place for Porsche.
I will never forget the day I had a few hours to kill in LA between Chicago and Sydney. I took a taxi to Pelican - only a short trip from the airport and was treated like royalty. Not only did I leave with a few goodies for the car - they guys had also slipped a surprise or two into my bag. Wayne you provide a fantastic forum, you make it (too) easy to pass comment, in uncertain times we all focus on the negative - don't become thin skinned because honest, ethical business that is consumer focussed will always survive.

I have found that if I can find the parts cheaper elsewhere (V) there is usually a reason. I bought my last rear window seal elaewhere because it was half the cost of the one at Pelican. Put it in and the corners puckered. This time I ordered from Pelican. I know this one will fit properly. (and I want my cool sticker!)

Wayne:
I realize from your post that I should have said thank you a long time ago. The combination of Pelican Parts and this board - the first for quality products at great prices and the second for quality information about how to assemble those parts - is the main reason most of us are able to keep our cars. I couldn't justify keeping my 87 if I couldn't fix most things myself. And I sure couldn't do that without Pelican! Thanks!

I didn't get a sticker with a big (recommended upgrade suggestions) order right before the Rebuild Book came out. But I got TWO
![]() I also will admit to a foray to another vendor - the price on one item was $75 less and I wouldn't have to pay CA sales Tax. My mistakes were: 1- getting other items as well, and 2- not asking Pelican why the pricing on that one item seemed strange. I was punished for my infidelity by: 1- Having a 3% handling fee added to the invoice after my order confimation Email, 2- Not getting online order tracking - (I love Pelican's system) 3- Not getting a "free" oil filter with my Cool Collar ![]() 4- Having to wait longer for shipping Pelican is the best source of info (this board, tech articles and technical help by phone) I would like to see more pictures of products online (I would have ordered a Third brake light earlier if I could see it) I'm sure there are questions that are being answered over the phone repeatedly - this should result in more information on that area of the catalog to address the FAQ's.

Another satisfied customer here. Unfortunately we generally gripe when things go wrong, but rarely acknowledge good service. I have found Pelican people to be pleasant, professional and knowledgable. I enjoy doing business with them.
Thanks, Jerry M '78 SC |

I've done a number of orders (14-15?) since I bought my car a few months ago. Although I've had some hiccups, they've always made it right and reshipped the correct stuff right away. If I started a business, I'd try to model many of things I've seen Pelican do into my own endeavor...

I’m thrilled to hear all of the positive feedback on this thread, like Wayne previously stated “some people have been just moaning and b**ching about the littlest things” I couldn’t have said it better.
Since day one I’ve maintained an open door policy with all of the employees here at Pelican Parts and I will continue to do so. The employees are the front-line of contact between you the customer and the company. I am approached daily with new ideas expressed by you the customer and my employees. I try my best to implement new practices or procedures on a weekly basis that I feel would ultimately better the service we provide to our customers. Please don’t hesitate to contact me or our team directly should you have any questions regarding the parts or service you receive. Once again thank you all for your testimonials and comments! ![]() |

Cool deal, thanks for the support guys! We realize that we need to make sure that we continue to take care of our customers as we grow. That is why (I hope) you haven't seen any decrease in service since we started pushing into DriveWerks and BMW, etc.
We have a major technology push going on this year with the following coming within the year: - Active inventory and stock levels (the shopping cart will tell you ship out dates) - Automated RMA screens and tracking of your credits - Email integration (emails will automatically be linked to orders - less confusion) - Backorder tracking (waiting for that piece from Germany? need to add or cancel, you will be able to modify online or track/cancel backorders) Big stuff, but necessary to continue our level of service as we grow larger. Thanks again for your support! -Wayne

Chris,
Cancel your order quick!!!! This board is like a disease. Once you start ordering parts and realizing you can do A LOT of the work yourself, you'll start ordering more and more parts. A simple rear brake rebuild recently turned into a complete rear suspension overhaul, including the rear wheel bearings as well as new master cylinder and front brake overhaul. There is more in the works too. AHHHH my poor wallet.
