The heater blower doesn’t sound right

So I got in the car (1988 911 coupe) today, and not heat. I checked the fuses in the panel in the engine compartment and the blower motor one (the one in the engine compartment) had popped. I replaced it, and now when I pull the red levers in between the seats it comes on, but sounds more like an inconsistent humming sound than the sound of a fan turning on. The fuse hasn’t popped again. I’m guessing the blower motor has started to seize up or something. Anyway, I just wanted to see if anyone else had a similar issue, and had any suggestions for possibly repairing the motor. I understand you can buy just the motor and not the whole unit including the housing.

Sounds like a leaf got sucked in? Sort of like using a clothes pin to attach playing cards to your bicycle wheel.

It's easy to pull the heater blower motor and bench test. Lots of threads on this.

The heater motor is really in two parts spot welded together. Mine was making lots of noise. I took the unit out and the two parts were loose making the fan scrap the inside. I used JB Weld , put together and fan is quiet as a mouse!!!
