930 Front Spoiler to Fender Body Seal/Beading?

Can someone point me to a link or part number for this beading (see pic)? I've spoken with the board sponsor, my dealership, and several parts suppliers and all seem to be pointing to Part 930.503.197.00 (see pic); however, I got that part and it is about 15" long. I'm measuring my car and think it should only be 6-7" long. Are these pre-cut or supposed to be cut to length for various applications?

They are correct! You will need to trim the part to fit. Here are some part numbers from the PET.

930 503 197 00 Piping quantity 2

OR

A set of parts:
- PCG 503 394 00 Set
77-89 qty. 1 TURBO
Piping
Body
Front and rear
Comprising:
- 930 503 197 00 Piping 2
- 911 503 325 00 Intermediate layer 2
- 911 503 326 00 Intermediate layer 2
- 901 503 394 22 Piping 2

The one you have needs to be cut to length. The important end has a 90 degree corner with raised lip. That end goes in the fender well. The other end is just straight and flat and goes in between the body panels.

Best of luck,

Rahl

The picture above is a fender gap seal. Goes between the upper fender wing by the front door and the windshield cowl panel. The narrow body car part number is 911.503.326.00 but i cant find the wide body number.. hmmm. It's called an "intermediate layer"..or "upper bumper extension seal" but I see your dilemma. The widebody part number listed in the books incorrectly goes to the fender seal..
Tough spot. Porsche catalog is wrong.. maybe someone can do some digging at the dealer level and try to trace the supercedence of that part number..

Thanks Rahl and Marc! I got the job done with some 'arts and crafts' cutting up part 930.503.197.00 but there's got to be an easier way!! This part was clearly made for the rear lower fenders where they attach to the bumper. I wonder if Porsche even still makes this mystery part for the front fenders, I can't imagine they were custom cutting pieces during assembly at the factory back in the 80's?!? I would have to imagine there was at one time a dedicated part number for this.

Below are a couple of versions of my solution - I ended up going with Plan B because in order for the corner piece to wrap tight at the wheel well, the integrity of it is lost when you have to cut out the tab for the securing bolt that attaches the Turbo front spoiler to the fender. I just couldn't get the corner to tuck tight so went with Plan B with no corner, just a clean cut. The X-Acto knife cuts to get around all three bolts and add flexible bends of the piping were quite the project! (Note: Plan A right side goes by wheel, Plan B left side goes by wheel - sorry the orientations got flipped.)

Would still be interested to hear what others have done, and if anyone knows of the mystery factory part that is incorrectly referenced in the factory part catalog.

J,

Glad it worked out for you!

Bob,
The factory valance uses the accordion. Many 930s run aftermarket valances that do not use the accordion.
