Backdate Only the Rear Pics
I've seen them but can't seem to find them! Someone had backdated the rear of their car only.
There is a thread on the car but I can't seem to find it now! Black car, only backdated in the back ![]() Any help is appreciated. Dan |

Awesome, I haven't seen these two threads. It seems like I'm not the only one with this idea. I'd love to do both the front and rear but the rear seems easy as compared to the front.

This is an old pic of my car. Not sure if it's the one you're looking for. The front was actually easier than the rear because it fit much better. The front bumper was basically just bolted on while the rear required cutting apart.

Just my opinion, but I've never much cared for the rear-only backdate look. Worst is with the stock front - the smooth rear with rubber accordions up front is not a compatible look to me. The black car shown above is better with the no-rubber SC-RS style front, but the two ends still don't work well together for my taste. I've never seen it done with the more rounded 964 front bumper, that might actually work.

This is the exact car I came across and was looking for. Man I like the look. I'm going to copy your style a bit. I'll post some pics on here in a few months! |

I’ve also thought if this for both the aesthetic reason and possibly a functional reason too. The rear steel bumper assembly on my 74 must weigh more than a fiberglass early look replacement. So less weight over all and at the more meaningful/impactful end of the pendulum. Or would that be wrong? In any case - froggert’s car is a direction I would like to take mine as well.

Consider msmall215's unique look as well:
The evolution of Beaker, my '83 Euro SC hot rod I think he did a great job and its one of my favorite builds. Street cars are probably most vulnerable being hit/tapped from behind and that Al bumper in the rear is a nice compromise for a little piece of mind.
