Thanks guys, lots of real good info now. Last night I took out my rear shelf and there is indeed a rubber-sealed hole in the rear corner of the shelf where the defroster wiring goes through. I also took a look at the connector I had mentioned earlier, plugging into the wheel well (or a little further back) kinda pointing to the rear taillight. So I think I'm all set for a Saturday morning project (much to my wife's dismay).
Rick - your light came with NO wiring? That pretty cheesy of the manufacturer. Mine came with same length hot + ground (about 4' worth) wires and came with the piggy-back connector mentioned earlier. I think I now MUST show pics and maybe post a step-by-step walkthrough ![]()

Matt, posting pics would be great. Regarding my installation: I had done it in 1989. Not a real popular upgrade at the time and "kits' didn't exist. Just factory replacement parts.

Just added a third light to mine last night. I went forward instead of backwards. I ran the wiring to the front of the car and connected it to the brake switch on the master cylinder. I don't like disturbing 25+ years of wiring especially when it is exposed to open air as in the engine compartment. I find that the wiring in the engine compartment is frail compared to the wiring in the trunck. Just my .02.
