Bluetooth Amplifier under Dash? Device Suggestions
I have a 1975 911 Coupe that I am looking to do something like this under the dash the music. I did a search and came up with nothing. I am wondering if anyone here has done this or something similar and suggestions on what device you used?
I have a radio deleted panel from Pelican and plan to do a plug in the Antenna spot on the fender. Thanks guys. |
does it need to be under your dash? I have a 2 channel amp and bluetooth adaptor set up under my passenger seat (feeding door speakers) -- works great :)

Following -- seeking similar ideas. Are there any with USB options as well as BT? Not a well-versed phone-BT user for music.

I have one of these, and I love it....the remote control is installed in my ash tray, it's a perfect fit....the amp is small enough you could mount it behind the wooden floorboard on the passenger's side, or certainly under the seat

That is awesome. Exactly what I was looking for. Only thing i wish was the controller was wireless, but then it would run on batteries or need to be charged at times. Do you have any pictures of the install? Looking for pictures of controller in ash tray and amplifier. |

Good solution and hiding spot but still offers accessibility..

I have RS spec door panels in my SC and my '72 has stock door panels with the factory fixed pockets (and stereo dash speakers)....in both cars, I perforated the door panel to let the sound pass through, it certainly blocks some of the highs, but it is more than good enough.

Wouldn't the amp fit where the radio resided if it's that small?

I know the OP doesn't have a radio anymore, but if you have a period correct radio but want to add BT and hands free, there is a kit from iSimple that goes inline with your antenna and uses the FM radio input. This is different from the tuner based ones in that the signal is direct, and it all gets hidden away under the dashboard. The advantage with this setup is you still get your original fm/am radio, working volume knob and the rest (such as the fader control on console for 80's models). Adding new speakers to the original enclosures can improve the sound, and you can add a powered inline amp if you want some more oomph.
A lot of owners just want to be able to listen to some music while driving longer distances, or to podcasts or whatever - you don't need a high end system to enjoy a bit of audio. You just need a good way to get your phone output into the stock setup. |
I use a bluetooth receiver/controller wired to an amp somewhere else. The benefit is using any amp, and being able to control volume and track-skip without having to look at a screen. It'll almost fit in a cigarette lighter socket. I'll never bother with the "what head unit doesn't look awful" question again...

I did a complete hidden stereo install in mine. I’ll try to dig into my phone and find some pics.
