Stuck In 5th Gear
Well not actually stuck, but over the last day or so it is getting harder to downshift from 5th gear. Not a tranny problem, more like there is a piece of metal or something stuck in the shift gate making me have to pull hard on the shifter then, pop, it downshifts. This happens car running, not running, clutch in, clutch out. So before I pull the console apart this weekend, anyone else have this happen? What should I be looking for?

pull up the shifter boot and watch the reverse lockout work. it also can snag the shifter coming out of 5th. the stick has to be centered, front to rear, in neutral, for best results.
