Opinion on Woowhoo's value?

OK, I've decided to put her up for sale... rather than part out or strip for my project car. So, I'll stick it on Pelican or put on eBay... not sure which. I just have no idea what she's worth so am looking for some intelligent input... and no $3,000 offers either, clowns.

Here's what she is:

'84 Carrera Cab
I have owned for past 8 years - has been great to me
Will have CA salvage title
Guards red on full black leather
Paint is excellent all around
Interior is very good... some chafing on the driver's seat
Seats could use re-stitching at seams
111,000 miles
Excellent running condition with a couple of very small oil leaks (maybe one drop a day)
Just passed smog
Freshly rebuilt 915
New rear axles
993 Cup wheels 7.5 and 9" - excellent. Pirelli p-zeros - nearly at end of life.
Factory Carrera tail
Stock flag mirrors (I'm keeping the 993 mirrors)
Momo Corse steering wheel
Momo carbon fiber shift knob and leather shift boot
Short shift kit
Aluminum pedals
Camber brace
Awai MP3/CD player
Various speakers in various condition
2 Nakamichi amps putting out hellacious power (1200 watts or something like that)
Top has a few small rips and needs a new headliner sewn in.. I have the new headliner and will include.

So, the car could be purchased and parted for a good profit I would imagine, since the motor is probably worth $6,000 and the 915 another $1500 or so. Wheels should be worth at least $1,000. I'm guessing that someone could get around $12,000 fairly easily. Or, the tub could be straightened in the front and it could be a complete, good Cab again.

I'm attaching a few pictures to illustrate what she looks like now. Any thoughts?

The salvage title is going to kill the price.

Probably better to part her out, sorry for the loss.

part her out, it may be a pain, but you'll get much more for her.

It would be nice if you shared with us what you managed to buy it from the Insurance CO for.

But the crest is missing....

Humor aside you'll get more money for it parted out....

Good luck,
Anthony

$12000 is conservative, if this car is stripped to the carcass not unlike what vultures do to a dead antelope on the Serenghetti this is worth near $20K in parts. However it will take the patience of a monk.

I don't know what Richard paid for it from the insurance company but I do have some experience with this sort of thing. I am going to venture an educated guess of around $6000.

A $hit-for-brains woman pulled in front of me. I hit her at about 40-45 mph. Her fault 100%.

Paul - I'll let you know after I sell it

What a shame!

Kurt B could use 1 of your doors though. And those mirrors are rather nice too.

Richard,

It's kind of funny: You are soliciting the board for information as to what the car is worth, yet you aren't willing to share the information that you have: I.E. what you got to buy it for.

What you paid is just piece of information that is useful to us members when we may find our selves in the same position as you. What you bought it for, and what it is worth are entirely unrelated.

I recently bought a 3.2 engine, and I've bought and sold Porsches, and I'm pretty plugged into what things are worth. Why should I share this information with you? I guess I'll let you know after YOU sell it.

$6-7K for the whole thing. Parting it out will bring you a whole lot more, but will take alot more time.

T-bone at 40-45 mph? Your pictures are a good testiment to the strong construction, I guess. I would have expected more damage, frankly. Hope you are OK, Richard.

I think 12k is high I think somewhere in the 5-7k for the whole car. Parting it out will bring you more but more of a PITA to do it that way.

You can try ebay with a 5k reserve see what happens

My insurance company was talking $10 to $12K for my 1990 C2 Targa. I tried - but then passed. Hopefully that whopping 3.6 is making somone happy.

Hey Richard, why not check with a parts place like Parts Heaven or others to see what they'd offer you? Might not be too much but parting it out yourself would be killer.

Good luck.
