Rolex Vintage Festival - Lime Rock - Accommodations?

As part of our trip thru the northeast in our 993, we're going to spend one day at Lime Rock to see the vintage racing festival. I'm looking forward to seeing the Porsche race cars through 1972.

Any of you guys have a recommendation for a place to stay in the area? Hopefully a nice place that's not too pricey. Thanks!

Jim - for Rennsport I we stayed at a "Motor Lodge" that was about 10 minutes outside of LRP. Great roads to and from ... I'll pull out the information and bring it for you on Saturday.

Just a heads up. There are a couple not so nice places nearby. I almost stayed in a biker/trailer park place, sorry I cant remember the name. I ended up in a place mabye 20 west of the track in NY. Great roads up there, have fun!

Cool

spoke to Jim a little while ago.. he's leaving DC and comming straight here.. maybe 6-8hrs from DC.. then leaving the next morning to do the shoreline of LI and Montauk Point. my house to Montauk is about 120mi., no big deal. Montauk is a big time sportfisherman trophy winner place.

my view is that so far is he's doing an interesting ride..
and wanting to do the ocean, channels, and inlets of the whole NE with his bride will be wonderful. so I'll show him the beach and channel around here, which is 150ft & 1,100ft from my little home. then he can cool out till the journey begins for real. like the first day can sometimes be an organized headache. but the best is that he'll still be able to wake up at 3am if he/bride wants and go watch the waves. or maybe catch the splash of a Striped Bass hitting the wildlife at the channel..
maybe after he sees my Snap-On sissor lift in action the NaVa guys will have another toy very soon.
so for the few hours of the pit stop. I fixin good.......Ron

Ouch....accomodations are tight in the area, and the vintage weekend is even tighter. You know what that means...bigger money. Esp this late. I either drive home or crash in my trailer, so I'm no expert, except to say get on this right away if you can, as your odds are decreasing by the day.

I do know that some have nice things to say about the Interlaken Inn, but I checked years ago, and for that $, I decided the trailer was more my speed! (But it seemed fine)

Good luck!

Jim,

If you are going to Lime Rock for only one day of the event, make sure it is Monday, Labor Day. That's when all the races are and it is a great day.

Plus, the local PCA chapter has a special deal for Monday. You get admission, corral parking and a $7.00 food voucher for only $20.00.

Here is a link to the Order Form. I spoke to the person organizing it yesterday. She said that there are still tickets available.

Well, I ended up booking a room at the Racebrook Lodge in Sheffield, MA, which I guess is about 20 minutes out from LRP. The places closer in were all booked up for Labor Day weekend. So, it looks like we're set.

Paul, thanks for the suggestion, but we're only going to be able to spend 1 day at LRP and it's the Saturday before Labor Day. I really wish I could stay all weekend, but I'm sure my wife will overload. Thanks again!
