Spring Plate cracks

Hi guys,
today removing the spring plate I've discovered my car has some cracks around that area.

After removing some of the paint it has actually been welded.

Any advice on what to do now?

There may be other vendors, but I know Elephant Racing sells a reinforcement kit:

That looks like a rust repair patch that was not fully executed. Clean it all back and check carefully. My guess is lap welded on top of old rust. Looks like rust peaking out at bottom of torsion tube. Considering this section supports the entire Passenger rear of the car you should make sure this is fixed properly.

There are repair panels available from Restoration Design and through our Host. Find a competent shop familiar with rust repair and get an opinion in person. This repair is relatively straight forward in the right hands.

Thanks for the inputs.

To me it looked like it had been smashed and rebuilt poorly, but the patch over a rusty section makes a lot of sense.
Tomorrow I'll sand and investigate further.
