I have used something quite similar, I ordered AutoSox from the TireRack years ago to use on my R32, then used a set on my Rabbit. Last winter I used them on my wife's Civic (same size tires). For Texas weather, I really, really love them, they work very well if you keep it slow and steady and get them off quickly when things clear. Easy on, easy off, They do not handle dry pavement and any kind of high speed well. Also I'd go for sets on all four wheels, it will help you brake and steer when all four wheels are working together.

I attached a couple of pics...... and thanks for the link, I might order a new set since mine are frayed a bit.

Hope this helps.....

Paul

Get snow tires

I ski a lot in Washington State where we get slippery wet snow on the way up. I have driven many cars, front and rear drive, in the snow. It ain't the car that handles the snow well, it is the tires. I have a full set of snow tires mounted up that I swap out in the fall. I have driven a BMW Z3 for 11 years into the mountains each weekend and once a week at night. Only chained up ... never. I even had two State Patrolmen convinced it was all wheel drive and let me go without chains when they were required on 2WD cars! (I bought X-Drive emblems later as a joke).
I realize not everyone is that committed, but snow tires make an are amazing difference! Take an elusive quarterback like Russell Wilson and put him in expensive dress shoes and see how well he can juke! Get some 'cleats'!
