Which motor mounts to get?
As I was reinstalling my supercharger and drive around, I started to get a lot of noise inside the cabin which I traced back to a bad left-side motor mount. As I went to find a replacement, I saw that there is a great variety between $30-$120. in addition, there are other engineered solutions such as rennline, wevo, and stomski.
The car was originally a targa so the engine crossmember doesn’t have the damper that the cabs do. In addition, the supercharger adds 50 lbs to the engine close to the left side (the side that failed). To add to that, the torque of the engine with the supercharger would cause it to compress the left side motor mount even more. So, I need something that can handle the extra weight and the additional torque but not something too stiff or harsh like solid mounts. I am open to the engineered solutions at the softer level. BTW I reinforced my crossbar (a long time ago) due to small cracks developing near the ends. So what mounts would you recommend? If its one of the regular rubber replacements, I probably will do only the damaged one, unless the suggestions are to get both. If its one of the engineered solutions, I would do both. Most recommendations In the threads are from years ago or talk about one specific mount. Thanks.

While you are in there...
Take a look at the transaxle mounts too. I forgot what year the engine and trans mounts began to differ, but my 74 mounts are all the same.
I went with the black poly inserts that replace the rubber, looking to modestly increase the stiffness. Believe I got them from our host. chris |

I haven't seen it confirmed, but I suspect the Rebel mounts are a rebranded WEVO part. They look identical aside from the color of the anodizing.
I have the WEVOs and have been happy with them.

I’ve had good luck with Powerflex parts on my vanagon (front diff, transaxle, all control arms front and rear, and steering rack bushings), so I went with those on the 911 for engine and transaxle. Very happy with them for the last 1,000 miles. No noticeable increase in NVH, significant reduction in on/off power drivetrain movement. worth considering!

Fit a set of OEM Cabrio/Clubsport mounts, best bang for the buck imo.

Thank you all for the suggestions.
I decided to replace both motor mounts with the brand less “OEM” supplier provided by our host. I rejected the engineered solutions and the cabrio mount because, as I said, I don’t have the damper of the cabrio crossmember and all of the engineered and the cabrio mounts are stiffer. The rest of the selections were in the $20-$30 range with the Porsche brand as an outlier at $120 each.

Finished the job and wanted to give a shoutout to RWebb for keeping me on the straight and narrow doing both mounts instead of one. Both were toast.
