New use for old tool
It was really tough trying to hold the ignition wire so I could screw in the spark plug connector on but this old tool (P385) for installing plastic fuel lines works pretty well for this job. :-)

Any recommendations or guidance on plug wires? Possibly in my near future.

Beru was bashed here.
Clewett people liked http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/1045629-beware-beru-plug-connectors.html |
I had 964 bottom wires with modified 964 valve covers but they leaked.
I ordered a set from Clewett and waited patiently. I called him after a month and he told me he couldn't get the components. (It would have been nice if you told me this earlier, grrr.) I then called our friend Henry and order a set and waited patiently. After a month, nothing. I revisited the problem of getting the wires connected and discovered the cap comes off the top of the plug connector. Now I'm replacing the plug connectors with "3.2" style Beru ones (6 for $190). I'm ohming them out as I go alone. 3 done so far. |
Why did you not order from Pelican?
They have Clewett in stock for $169 https://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/SuperCat/911M/POR_911M_BASTUN_pg3.htm |
Got my Clewetts on Pelican, great product, 0.0% hassle.

I needed a solution for the bottom plugs with connectors that fit a 964 distributor. |
I couldn't find this tool anywhere as "P385" but I stumbled across it at a local vendor right down the road from me. That's probably where I got it many years ago.
Maybe Pelican can get for you if you asked? To find it l googled: "T-POLYAMIDE" tool You have to have "T-POLYAMIDE" in quotes. It's $50 at this time (June 2020) |
