What does this go to?

Where does this hose go? I just got the engine back from rebuild, and now it does not have a hose anymore at this point. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1589115480.jpg

Your snorkel should be facing the right side of the car and that port on the snorkel should be facing down. That tube goes to the port on the chassis by the oil tank. You'll see it when you look at the oil tank.

The picture I provided was taken as I pulled the car from 40 years of neglected storage. So that hose ran around the back side of the engine over to where the oil filler is? Where/what is the breather port? Thanks!!

Sorry... my first response was not correct. I corrected it.

In that picture the snorkel is facing the wrong direction so more than likely that hose was just sitting in the back corner of the engine compartment.

When the snorkel is facing the right direction the factory hose connects to the port on the chassis. The breather port on the tank with the arrow connects to the back of the air filter housing.

So the location with the arrow can be seen inside the engine bay? What is the larger red cap going to? Thanks again

Sorry, went out and looked at one of my cars to confirm and I originally gave you wrong information. Now I'm not positive because they are never connected. I looked back at pictures I have but not 100% sure. Hopefully someone can confirm.

I believe that port on the snorkel connects to the port on the chassis next to the oil tank. You will see it sticking up when you look at the oil tank.

The port with the arrow in the picture is the breather and connects to the back of the air filter housing and yes you can see it from inside the engine compartment.

The large port with the bigger red cap is where the filler next attaches. You will see another breather port on your filler neck and that one connects to the oil breather cover on the engine.

Sorry for the initial confusion.

Thanks for the additional info, I'll go check now.
