Pelican Parts Okay, so what do you think of this?

Well, by now, many of you should have the new engine rebuild book. Most of you have said you liked the photos (thank you), but no one has mentioned the Appendices? That was one reason why the book was delayed for a few months - I was working on getting these down pat.

Perhaps no one notices them, until they need them? Some highlights:

- Torque table for *all* engine fasteners (no where else)
- Ignition Timing and CO% Measurements (took me FOREVER to compile this table)
- Specs on every part from crankshafts to intermediate shafts...

No one should need the little spec books anymore when rebuilding an engine. In fact, I must have caught and corrected about 30-40 errors in those books (in the engine section alone). Lots of errors. If you have a spec book, look at the engine book appendix first - comparing year to year books reveals many, many errors that were never corrected!

-Wayne

I'll add a plug here...great book. Evren's copy is headed for Istanbul via slow boat today. That's cheapy surface mail, book rate. The bonus CD version that Wayne includes will be going to Evren air mail...

Wayne, will this book be showing up on the shelves at Barnes Noble like the 101 Projects book does?

Just got mine last evening. Great stuff!

Wayne, I actually flipped right to the back to look at all the specs as soon as I got the envelope opened. I think it'll be great to have all that information in there when the time comes for me to rebuild.

I love it!

Should I be crossing my fingers in the hope of getting it by 5:00 PM today, on Friday in hopes of a good read this weekend???

Probably, but it won't have the extra CD or Waynes autograph.

I finally got the chance to sit down last night and do some reading. Outstanding job Wayne.

Got mine yesterday - looked as great as I had expected it to.

One of the things that sold me on the book was the tables you said would be in it - well done and very much appreciated, Wayne!

I got mine last night and was very impressed by the clarity and abundance of photos. No terse steps accompanied with a grainy black and white photo. I have a couple of books I can toss now.

I haven't made it to all the appendices yet, but am very impressed by the amount of data you've crammed in there.

Thanks Wayne.

I got mine a couple of days ago, but only opened it yesterday. I was up until about 1:30 AM reading it.

So when will there be a 964/993 version?

The book is actually for sale already in Finland, wow for that. Although the price is 50 euros (55$) + shipping and no CD.

OK, I feel left out now. Wayne you have plugged this book quite a few times and I now feel the need to get my order in. You should probably throw in another copy of your 101 Projects because a lot of the pages in mine are unreadable from the grease and oil. From the descriptions and talk around the engine book it sounds like a must have for the library.
