Bitz EFI conversion fuel line modification, need help adapting lines
 

I need some insight from people who are more familiar with 911's than I am. I'm currently working on installing a Bitz EFI conversion on my 83 911SC, and i've hit a snag involving the fuel lines. The kit calls for you to strip the old fuel line off of the fitting going from the top of the fuel filter to the CIS, and then strip the fuel return T off of the CIS lines and use it for the return.

The issue i'm running into is that the lines that came off my car are not (what i'm assuming is) pollyflex, but instead it looks more like a crimped line minus the visible crimp.

Does anyone have any idea if the collar around the end of the line can be removed, and if so what is under it? Ultimately I would have liked to have removed the factory fuel filter and accumulator and gone to -6 AN lines, but i didn’t realize that my CIS lines were different until after i had put the motor back in the car. If anyone had a lead on adapters to go from the factory hard lines coming up the firewall to -6AN that would be willing to share that info that would be awesome.

I've got a Megasquirt on my SC and can go look in my files for parts information when I'm home if you like. I had Len Cummings (boxsterGT) make me a set of fuel lines (filter top to left rail, crossover, return line from right rail) to replace older ones on my car (the PO did the install) and I'm pretty certain he could help you with making lines for your car.

That would be great, i’m sure i could come up with something, but if there’s a good way i’d rather take that route.

First, I have to say the original CIS fittings are getting scarce, and by cutting them back with an Exacto blade you have destroyed their usefulness for repairing a CIS line or even for a hose that you are attempting to use this for.

Tony Bitzanis is making a HUGE MISTAKE advising to strip back the fittings with a blade to use them for his kit.

The Hose fittings required I keep in stock. You need HOSE fittings, not Poly tube fittings. There is a difference in their design and function.

To remove the TUBE the correct way is to MELT the tube with a soldering iron. I would gladly buy the old CIS fittings, but NOT when they are cut with a blade leaving the barbs damaged.

Hopefully you have not done this to the fittings you are asking about.

I will happily provide you with the correct HOSE fittings you need and pay you for your trouble if your Return or the other fittings are not damaged.

I checked my files and don't have any part numbers. I'll find some photos of what I have if you like, though Len should have a record of it on file since he made hoses for me.
