how to replace interior door handles?

I did a search but could not find anything.I have purchased aluminum interior door handles to replace the plastic ones on my 1983-911SC,how do you go about this?I know there is the door rod that fits into a plastic bushing in the handle but how do you replace the handle itself?Thanks for any imfo.

Here's an artcile from Pelican on removing the entire door panel. The handle removal is part of the process.

There is a tiny circlip on the both ends of the pin holding the handle to the doorpull. Mine popped off easily with a small screwdriver and went back on easily with a needlenose.
