OP, Timken makes good bearings, but so do FAG and SKF, the usual suppliers of German bearings.

I too would add a 1-2 slider to the job. And one of my 1 piece beating plates. The cheaper ones aren’t heat treated like mine.

Which one is yours? Link?

I own Guard Transmission aka GT or GTgears. We don’t advertise it because we are 100% wholesale. Our dealers know about it and offer it to their clients as part of the rebuild process. The CMS, Wevo, and Patrick versions are better known because they retail their stuff to diyers. We are the original and still the best. And the most expensive at $325. But heat treating it is an added step and expense that makes them stiffer.

What facility gave you that quote
My 1976 911 might need a rebuild and that price was much more reasonable than the one I received

Nice video. Who did the editing?

Me, I've been doing video episodes of my whole engine build. Check it out if you want to learn how to do an engine on a budget :P

I'm trying to get my daughter to do an edit job on my convertible vinyl window replacement. I have some preliminary stills on another thread. She has a degree in Media Management and has an actual job doing that. :D
