For those with magnetic phone mounts...

So I have this:

...and I also have a few other cars with similar systems. Getting ready to update my phone and was looking for similar metal plates for magnetic mounts - found these:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09B35RXV7?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

It was something I was thinking about a few months ago and finally measured and looked around for similar. They measure the exact same...

Nothing technical, just a find I thought I'd share...

Erik

I bought a few doodads like this

They perfectly replaced the magnet on the rennline and other mounts.

The next trick, you put an open ring on the back of your phone, probably comes with the kit above but even if you have a phone case, it’ll hold the phone to the mount very securely.

I added the induction charger magnetic head to my Rennline phone mount too. I then drilled a small hole through the underside of the gauge cluster to hardwire the mount into a power source behind the dash. No loose wires getting in the way.

Brooke, I also adapted a Qi charger to my Rennline clock mount, but I still have the wire looped under the dash. I like your inconspicuous hole. I'll plagiarize it shamelessly.
