Really good question. Why do you ask?
You may want to install an AFR meter. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1589404661.jpg |
Gordon, Thank You. That is the best way to go. Didn't think of it. I have a lot of time and money in my car and need to know where its running

What size carbs?

An AFR gauge is good for monitoring mixtures assuming idle adjustments (Lean Best mixture and air flow balancing) and on-throttle balancing of air flows have been adjusted. If air flows are not balanced then AFR readings will be an average of both carbs. This does assume one AFR gauge is used in one of the exhaust collectors. Also, float levels in all four float bowls must be checked for correct setting since fuel levels in float bowls determining when fuel begins flowing in the main circuit and will affect mixture readings.
In conclusion: AFR gauges are very useful in checking your jetting for new carb setups but basic tuning must be performed correctly to baseline the readings. |
