Gen light not lighting on accessory
Hey guys putting a 2.7 into my 914. All wired up but when I switch ignition to accessory, I get no generator light. If I ground the blue wire from the alternator I get The generator light. The ground wire tests good on the alternator itself. I don’t have the connections crossed up. Is the alternator bad? As in the brushes aren’t making contact? Any advice before I drop this thing out of the car would be awesome.

No brush contact probably. Fun in a 914-6.

Thanks John, I suspected this. Ugh! Any hope
Beyond hope this will alleviate itself after it rotates a bit? I haven’t filled her full of oil yet… Wouldn’t be a huge deal to drop it, but its sooo close to firing up… Last test would be to pull the brown and blue and check between the poles for a 100% diagnosis of this? |
