Racing BBS wheels value
I have come upon an interesting set of 15" BBS wheels. The rear are 11x15 and fronts are 9x15. I have seen the 3 peice style before but never with a 78-on turbo offset. The halves have been chromed at some point and have started peeling. Do these have any value today? Rear meat is 345/35/15 which I know is hard to come by and these need replaced.

Some of the older BBS rims have to be taken apart in order to replace the tire, not very fun from what I have heard.
You might be able to purchase new outer halves in 16" or 17" and that would allow more tires choices. According to TireRack, only one Pirelli is available in that size: 271 each...ouch.... I know that the TireRack had a bunch of the AVS Intermediate in that size at a killer price, but some 930 or Lambo or Pantera guy must have bought the rest of them to have for spares.

Too big to fail

The tires are the deal breaker on 11x15 wheels. If you can't get rubber, they're useless.

There's another thing bugging me: the centers are rather 14" than 15", with the outers and inners flared to reach the 15" diameter. Usually on such 15" racing rims, they are straight.
These centers were made in diameter 13"to 17", and also sold undrilled. They are scary light and very fragile. GeorgeK |
