911 3.2 Targa B pillar exterior seals

Hi all,

During the quarantine I've started going through the remaining bits on my 87 911 3.2 Targa, and one of the remaining thing is the exterior seals.

I have some loose front rubber seals that I need to deal with, but I also got these non-rubber seals below the B Pillar.

Does anyone know what these are called and whether it's a simple operation to replace them? What are the part numbers?

They go all the way back to the rear window, so my fear is that the window have to be taken out.

They are loose on both sides, and I need to get this fixed.

Thanks!

/k

I don’t but I’m very curious to follow this thread. Our cars are almost exact. I’m dealing with tweaking the B pillar window seals.

I’d guess getting new sealing strip and re fit your black trim closer to the bar.

Mine isn’t as bad as yours but there are areas like this I was wondering about.

Side note, see the space on your window trim? That little hole. Water goes right down there. I’m picking up new trim seals from Porsche and so far I gather there a little longer. My hole is 7mm and the trim slides around.

I think we are at the age that trims starting to shrinks a little. Great pics.

From the 86 PET, I’m sure the 87 is the same, it’s part 15 and 14

Called sealing strip: pn. 000 043 129 00 Sealing strap

And this. Our host has it.

No worries, and thanks a lot Hotshot!

This seal seems to go below the B-pillar and isn't made out of rubber, so trying to figure out what it is

If it's any consolation, I've got the same issue on my '88.
Guessing it's fairy common. and also interested if there's a relatively simple fix.
