Stolen: 1970 911t

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to post this (mods please move if not) but I wanted to make everyone aware in the vague that hope that my Porsche pops up somewhere. Last night my 1970 911T was stolen from in front of my home in San Francisco. It was a matching numbers car. Here is a photo and the relevant info:

VIN: 9110123204

Engine: 6108829

Transmission: 7109034

License: 8KID839

gngroup, sorry to hear that. So what is the story, might as well ask. On the street, driveway, etc? How did they snatch it? Towed, driven away, alarm. Any witnesses? Sucks

Dan,

It was parked in front of my home, on the street. An individual came up to the car at 12:50am and opened the door (unclear how; almost like he had a key), got in, spent about 2 minutes inside, and then drove off. That was from 'grainy' camera footage. I'm not sure how I or my neighbor didn't hear it start but, I didn't. This is a neighborhood with $3m homes, a $120k Tesla parked 15 ft away, two other Porsche's down the block, etc. It feels targeted but I have no idea. Police did not seem hopeful to find it but we'll see.

It's a long shot, but given you are in California and there's quite a Porsche scene you may seek some of the notables in the area to spread your message.

Spike Feresten recently had a car stolen and recovered and the whole story played out practically live on Instagram.

Iíve sent some emails to the PCA and posted on here and the early 911s forum. Any other places I should post?

Rennlist.

There is an aircooled group on Facebook. My local PCA has a chapter page too. There are some other local cars and coffee type groups. Anything to get to as a broad an audience as quickly as possible.

Good luck getting it back Gn. A beautiful car.

Does San Francisco have security ca,eras on the streets run by the city or police? Hopefully you can get a few more clues, but it does sound rather a professional theft.

We are in Oakland but very familiar with San Francisco. I assume it was taken in the North part of town? We will keep an eye out for it? Do you usually leave it parked outside? If so maybe it was targeted.

This happen to a friend of mine. Apparently while the car was at a shop getting a PPI someone made a copy of his key. Then on the next drove off in the car early morning. Really a bummer.

Tough break, wishing you the best.

I’ve gone to disabling my car up to four different ways when parked out of sight for any length. It’d take a shop to get it started. Of course nothing really stops a flat bed and a fork lift.
