Here's how mine came out. It is the one from Daniel Stern. I stuck it to the rear shelf with Blue Tak, but may change to adhesive-backed hook-and-loop.

Thanks for commenting.
I will wait further --- patiently. FYI --- it has been ~ 10 says since I sent the inquiry to Stern. Quote:

OK Gentlemen,
Found this alternative to the slow response by Daniel Stern: It states it will accomodate 26-75 degrees, seems allot but priced well: ![]() http://www.rallylights.com/detail.aspx?ID=1805

Same thing happened to me when I placed my order Sept last year. It took about 2 weeks for Mr. Stern to acknowledge my faxed order due to a family matter that took him away from his desk. Ultimately, though, the order did arrive. I'm not supporting this kind of customer service, just reporting my experience for your information.

I used the Hella Model 37, 20-36 degrees, from Daniel Stern Lighting. It fits my SC coupe perfectly.

I did the one from the OP, works great. The trick is to get 2 hour black epoxy and cut a piece of PVC or two to fit to jam it in between the rear deck shelf and the mounting brackets while the epoxy sets.

Ooooh, good idea! I think I'll change mine to hook-and-loop.

Since my last post on this thread, I went even more stealth with a far smaller yet much brighter LED setup at the top of the window. It has the added bonus of flashing 4 to 5 times to really get people's attention before going into a steady red. The wires were run though the rubber window seal. The only bummer is that you will need to fab a small bracket to attach it to. It does come with with a self-adhesive back which I used with my bracket. I did not connect the running light wire.

...these look great...now to compare the Knightrider vs the Auto^one long led strip 3rd lite version...
I like the flashing part of the Krider lite...after all , this lite is to get attention vs another red lite turning on... Thx, Bob

I have this long LED light available for $10 plus shipping - works fine. No mounting hardware, just the LED in its black housing - just apply with double stick tape to it's back. PM if interested.
This is how it looked double sided taped to rear deck - which does not obscure vision ![]()

Here's how mine looks in the daytime, no brakes. I changed the fastening method to a strip of adhesive hook-and-loop tape. It isn't going anywhere.

These are on sale right now. 25% off. Under $30 shipped within CONUS. Just bot one after being tailgated heavily twice in the last month. Probably just over-curious looky-loos, but scary nonetheless.

I've decided that the big light I mounted low on the window wasn't cutting it for me, and am now moving in the LED strip direction. I looked at the 9" from HB, but bought a similar 5" from evilBay instead. Looks like the same light as the 9", just shorter. Less than $6 shipped. I wrapped the back with black electrical tape, and that turned the whole thing black, it should be almost invisible when not lit. Will post again when I get it installed.
