1973 911 drivers window problem.

I have been trying to solve a problem with my drivers side window.
I replaced pivot pin and spring. It has a lot of movement front to back. So when it goes up and down it is sliding forward and back. I did notice that the window channel where the window sits in had some glue that does not look factory. So I am wondering if where the window sits in that channel is critical to the front to back movement. there seems to be a 1/2 inch play front to back with the window in the chanel. should there be that much? how do you adjust the window so it stays tight in the front felt channel? I do have a video just dont know how to load on the forum.

On my 1973.5T 911 the windows both driver and passenger have very little if any movement within the window frame and felt channel. The felt inside the window channel will over time become hard and the window will actually feel like its binding rather then feel like their is a lot of play. Try to pull up a schematic of the door and window channel and you will se the frame for the window is rigid. The only thing l can think of that's causing play is the lower portion of the frame that's hidden in the door came unbolted or the felt is worn down to nothing. Lets us know what you come up with.

Good luck

Is there a mark on the window lifting rail as to where to locate the window? Front to rear?? I think that is the problem
