It may have gotten a little out of control..I have a problem.
What started a replacing a broken clutch fork has become a victim of “while I’m in there”. Decided to first clean things up..led to addressing a few leaks which will lead to chain ramps and learning to time cams....led to fuel lines..led to taking the intake down for sprucing up..which leads to painting valve covers and the shroud..which leads to polishing the fan and shroud...might as well replace the CV boots while the engine is out as well as replace a broken heater cable...which will lead to...$$$

Nice! I did the same thing couple years ago. Found some pitting on a couple cam lobes and had to get them reground with rebuilt rockers too.
Alternator went out last week. Need to dive back in today. My advise is to get your alternator rebuilt while out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

One of the most fulfilling but least appreciated aspects of Porsche ownership; doing it right.
You are now a true pelican.... to be admired by many

This summer may not happen but the fall will for sure. Last time I had the engine out was 1998 when I replaced the original clutch...prices for parts have increased considerably since then as have my aches and pains. Glad I finally got the lift installed last week; made dropping the engine pretty darn easy.
