Rally project is painted!

I bought this car in 2013 to be my next rally car. It was a ratty SC that I picked up in Northern Michigan for pretty cheap. Car had some rust in the usual spots and failed studs. I pulled and built a hot engine and the shell sat for some time. I slowly clipped off rust removal projects here and there, and eventually got the blasted last summer. Once blasted, I designed and had a cage built to meet current rally specs and moved on to paint. So after nearly five years, I’m finally almost to an assembly stage. Car was originally Copper metallic. Wanted something bold in the most subtle way.

Nice sunroof delete!

Car looks fantastic. Is it going to stay plain white or is it getting graphics?

Hard to tell the color, but it's actually Dune Beige. Had planned to paint the car cashmere, but didn't like the sample after it was sprayed out.

Nice.

I find - color is obviously 100% personal - Cashmere to be the most hideous color ever to grace a 911; what you chose looks great.

Did you have to remove the whole roof in order to weld the cage?

The cage was all tig’d and was able to be dropped to weld up the parts. We actually popped a hole under the main hoop plate, so we could lower enough to get to the top.
