When I had my shop called Apcar in Califon NJ I used to service his red 77 930 from to time over some years.I never met him as he had a driver always deliver the car from NYC.It had a killer stereo system in it though and the car was stock.Fred

Very cool. Glad I clicked... my initial thought was that this was a 911 powered by the electric setup out of a Karma!!!

I have a couple of those Special wishes steering wheels.

Cool car/story/video, but a missed opportunity. This should be called: Haulin' Oates.

I owned that car for a few years. Spencer Cox (Speesport Tuning) found/serviced it for a friend, I bought it from friend, kept a few years, and sold to another customer at Powertech, NJ.

I may still have a registration with John Oates name on it.

Of course, during my ownership, the provenance was interesting but did not add value.

After he sold her, he must have said, "She's gone, she's gone, Oh I, Oh I, I'd pay the devil to replace her."
