Targa Top Part

All,
Noticed a few days ago that I was missing the middle, front screw on my targa top.

After tying every screw and bolt I could find ( I even sent a note to Dan at Carsinc for help) all to no avail.

I reached out to Pelican and they sent me this part. My question is how is it secured? There's no threads on it.

What secures the pin to ensure it doesn't fall out again?

Thanks for any help

The pin is press fit. get the old pin out and push
the new one in. Looks like the head of the old one got
knocked off.

It is retained by a circlip. That is why there is a groove in the end of the shaft. There is usually one or more plastic washers that shim the circlip

Nomore.......there's nothing in the hole. The pin is completely gone.

Thanks for letting me know I don't need anything to secure it. I thought like tholyoak that there needs to be a circlip or something to keep it from falling out.

Sorry I thought the pin was still there. You would have seen the circlip in that case. Tholyoak is correct about the circlip. You can probably get one easy enough at the hardware store. good luck. John.

Targa top parts

Yes a plastic bolt holds the two arms together. A plastic push clip hold the vinyl arm trim in place. It is the same one that is used in the front corners. Also you really don't need that metal cir clip If you ever replaced a plastic bolt you would know of what I speak. If you want though I can send, I have dozens.
