1986 911 Audio options
The audio system on my car is CRAP!!! I'm in between either stripping the interior, rs carpet, rs door panels, delete all "luxuries" OR keeping it as Porsche gods intended and enjoy it as a somewhat comfortable practical sports car. One factor that will come in play while making that decision is options for modern hi-fi system that's not obviously aftermarket but sounds better than the car's 35 year old speakers.

You are dealing with essentially the same tub from 1964/65...built with the intentions of the “Porsche gods.” If you want better audio, try searching this forum or a broader search on Google; this has been covered ad nauseam. Short answer, for “not obviously aftermarket” replace the “35 year old speakers” and add an amplifier.

My audio system is a well turned out 3.0L Porsche engine sitting behind me.
Or, sometimes it's Spotify in a set of AirPods.

Hi maktarga- A new development is the SQR 46 DAB from Blaupunkt. There are quite a few threads- here's the original... New Blaupunkt Black Radio Avail 2018
As background, I'm running an old Blaupunkt Arizona CM148 at 4 x 40 watts (and no amp) I'm pleased with the sound. I was able to splice the wiring to allow the center console fader switch to still operate. Also, I did add Bluetooth several years ago, here's my story...Bluetooth Streaming for older Blaupunkt I have a set of 6.5" Pioneers in the front, Retrosound 4x6 in the rear, and pleased with the sound, quality and the stock appearance of all items.

"Audio? Audio? We don' need no steenking audio!"
I rarely turn mine on, I too prefer the natural sounds of the car.

Took my car to work today, first time this year driving it other than an quick trip around the neighborhood. Coming from my '18 Honda Civic Si DD - literally one of the cheapest cars on the road - the amount of noise the 911 makes is insane. Crazy how fast you grow accustomed to a quiet car. Engine, gearbox, tires, wind, I forgot how much I have to crank the radio just to hear anything.
Anyways, the PO installed a component setup in the doors with an amp under the passenger seat. I added a small, self-contained sub in passenger rear footwell that does surprisingly good for something not much bigger than a box of Kleenex. The rear deck speakers were disabled when I bought my car, so I installed some new ones, but they didn't add much. On long drives, I wear earplugs to block out the car noise and crank the heck out of the audio to power through the earplugs.

Best luck I've had for audio is the Anker Roav F0 Bluetooth FM adapter. I keep the old Blaupunkt Monterey tuned to 88.5 and Pandora / Spotify come through loud and clear.
