Stop light switch

Hello all

I have some problems with my stop light… I think my stop light switch is out of order.

I have seen on maintenance manual this switch is Under throttle pedal.

Is it difficult to adjust this switch. Do you have some advice?

Thank you for your help!

Different year cars have different brake light switches.
Here a post that describes how to adjust a brake like switch.
Stupid brake light question

And those early brake light switches often get gummed up and won’t turn on the lights. If you follow the instructions, it’s super easy to back the adjusting screw all the way out and clean it up. You’ll see a lot of gunk in the pointy end of the adjusting screw. Wipe it clean, reinsert and adjust according to the instructions and you’ll be good to go.

Also, if you are careful with the lock but, you should be able to reinsert the screw roughly where it was, which is a good starting point.

Did you just have the brakes serviced?

I found on my '74 that wen the brakes were done the way I liked it, the pedal was moving so little that it did not activate the brake light switch. Was a bit of work to get to it, on mine it was behind the brake pedal, but easy to adjust
