3.2 afm

Removed the AFM on my 84 to replace the oil tank breather hoses and found the black plastic cover loose. Carefully pried it off and found that clear silicone sealant was holding it on, not the factory "putty" (same stuff sealing the tail light housing.) So someone has obviously been in there before. Doesn't appear to have been professionally rebuilt, curious if anyone sees a mod. First time I've ever looked under the cover, or had to. Car runs fine, BTW.

Fairly common for people to open them up to either tighten the flapper spring (making it leaner for smog) or looser for richer mixture. Also, it's common to clean up the wiper tracks to reduce juttery low speed driving.

Often these mods cause more harm than good, so if yours is running well, consider yourself lucky. It wouldnt be a bad idea to check your AFM while driving. I found that my 3.2 was going lean at 5k rpm, NOT what you want...
