Short video from our spring AutoX school.

This is a short video from a car control exercise at our spring AutoX school. Although it is not the fastest way to get through a corner, it shows that by NOT lifting off the throttle in a drift it will allow more car control.

The school is great to show new and less experienced drivers about car control and feel. They (Instructors) emphasize learning your ability and limits so that you can be safe and enjoy the sport.

This run was for fun to show what can be done if a slide does happen.

If you have trouble opening the file (Windows Media Player) right click and save it to your own machine and open it with something like Quick Time Player.

A huge thanks to l33t9eek for hosting this for me!!!!!!!

pretty slide. Driving like an idiot when I was a teen (not that I have stopped, but not nearly as bad) taught me that lesson.

Pretty cool video! Get this, when I was at an AutoCross back when I was in college, an instructor took a practice lap with me in my 911...he said...the best way you'll want to get your car around this hair pin is to pull your hand brake! Argh!!! That worked in my Camaro, but I'd rather not try in my 911. LOL I never went back!

Wow Souk,

Did he actually pull the E brake? If one of our instructors ever actually did that in a student’s car, our head instructor would pummel him (well, talk to them sternly and suspend their instructor privilege for a while).

I have heard people say to do that in a tight hairpin, but from my experience it is about 1.5 seconds slower if you do that. It takes more time to get the car settled back in after such an abrupt suspension unload. It is better to go real late into the turn, start your turn and then get back on the gas early to come out under full power.
