Unhappy '74 CIS misfire issue

SOLVED -
It was the distributor.
Shop found excessive play in the shaft, fitted a new one - sorted!

Well, I have this '74 Targa, the 2.7 engine has been rebuilt before I bought it.

NOW - the car seems to be missing cylinders when driving, you put your foot down at 3000rpm and instead of acceleration i get hesitation and misfire. Sometimes it works fine.
Intermittent faults are a pain to diagnose, I am aware of of that.

So far we replaced the CDI, all HT leads, did a leakdown test, adjusted the valves. Injectors have been flow tested, timing checked, points are in spec now.

Every time we found something suspect, we were disappointed when it did not fix the misfire.

Open to suggestions for the forum where to go next
