AEM A/F gauge toast?

Hey guys,
My AEM A/F gauge isn't working properly.
When you start the car it appears to do a startup procedure, rolls through digits, then stops at 3 bars.
Anyone see this before? I figure either the gauge or sender is toast.

Mine did the same thing and it was the sensor in the tailpipe. I contacted AEM since it was fairly new and they sent me out a whole new unit.

I sent them an email and have not heard back. Bought it about 3 years ago.

maybe pull the sensor and try cleaning it up with brake parts cleaner, a softish wire brush & some air from a comprssor before you pony up for a new one. others have suggested soaking a fouled one in gas to clean them up.

I was thinking the same thing. My car burns a bit of oil so that could be it. I am not looking forward to fishing that sensor wire through. It was a PITA.

It is suppose to do that when warming up and car not running. Unplug the sensor and it should read 14.7 . If so, gauge is good and sensor bad.

AEM got back to me and they say replace the sensor. I'll give it a clean.

Thanks 935. I'll try that as well.
