Winter Project Finally Done

For Father’s Day I finally wrapped up my suspension refresh after a torsion bar snapped a few months ago. Thousands of dollars in parts and blood, sweat, tears and more blood. She’s back. After finding the broken torsion bar I embarked on a seriously financially debilitating “while I’m in there crusade”.

Aside from the standard plugs - oil change - and cap and rotor. I also did a leakdown test - valve adjust - new valve cover gaskets - cleaned and painted the valve covers - sent the fuel injectors for clean and rebuild - new CHT - O2 sensor - speed sensor - ref sensor - new sway away torsion bars front and back - rebuilt and painted all calipers - bilstein sport rear dampers - hd front dampers - new front rotors - rebooted and repacked rear axles - cleaned and repacked front bearings - turbo tie rods - new ball joints - elephant racing a arm bushings and spring plate bushings - sway bar bushings - and set camber and toe and lowered at all four corners. Finally a wash and a wax.

I’m tired. But I’m glad she’s back in time for the beautiful PNW summertime.

Thanks to people on the forum prior threads and the incomparable DRACO - the only thing not done by my two hands was the fuel injector clean and rebuild.

Also. Huge hat tip to the URO parts folks. When I ordered the tie rods from them ages ago and they realized the rubber boots weren’t up to par they overnighted me better ones. They catch a lot of flak on here but I love that they are trying to help non wealthy diyers afford Porsche parts!

Congrats! Looks good and I bet it feels great on multiple levels.

Broken torsion bar started quite the chain of events.

Great leak down numbers ! That is where the nickies and proper brake in do there job.
Brake in with all rev ranges and red line and off gas decel and all throttle positions full and soft .
Lucky you!
