STRANG roar in front
I am having problems diagnosing a noise with my 85 911. When goig down the road the car had a roar in the front right side...when i slightly turn the wheel to that side, it stops...only to start back later...

Ditto
on the wheel bearing. And if the right is bad...the left may not
be far behind...

You guys lack creativity.
I won't dispute you though. ![]() |

bad enharmonic oscillator. They have to be replaced in pairs though. You can't just change out one with a spare. That's why I always carry 3 with me. |

No, the oscillator will only make a WHANG-ing noise, not a roar. Roars nearly always point to the sposkot plug, commonly overlooked. Pretty pricey though, so you should first perform the wind test, at operating temperature which means above 300 degrees F.

Muffler bearing. You just _think_ it's coming from the front.

you will only think the muffler bearing noise is coming from the front if your torsion shear bar has bad grommets. This will transmit the vibration from rear to front, thus inducing a counter-clockwise Bernoulli vortex. If however your enharmonic oscillator is functioning properly, the vibration will be nullified, and a clockwise vortex will counterbalance the muffler bearing.
Superman, I wouldn't perform the wind test unless you have recently replaced your thermowidget. And you also need to make sure that you have relays on your flux capacitor as the 300 degree mark can cause surges. |

HAHA nostatic I was just waiting to the flux capaciter to show up.

Thats odd, the mid-eighties upon failing made a Wang-Chung kind of sound, the older models made a sort of a Acid-Wash noise, while the late models make a Rap-Rap noise !!!!!! Just get Herbal, and get in touch with your whatevers !!! Doug

Sounds to me like a bad Quetzel-Quatel diaphragm retaining seal.

What?

Sounds like bad gas to me!

Actually the Quetzel-Quatel seal can be hurt by bad oil, not gas. Best to taste a bit of each to make sure.

ah, but Ron your emoticon wouldn't be smiling if there was QQDRS dissolved in that bottle...nasty stuff!
Of course it would be fine if that coozy around the bottle is actual a "Cruel Collar". That product has been shown to decrease QQDRS, FC, and BV contamination by up to 50%. |
