1975 Carrera - Red Alternator Light On

I have been enjoying my 75 911 Carrera (US Spec) and the car runs strong but the red alternator light goes on and never off.
I have checked the Porsche Owner's Manual and it mentions the the V-Belt might be a reason but I have exchanged it when I got the car and it seems to be fine. The other potential issues it mentions are the regulator or the alternator.
Anybody can share their experiences with this ?
Many thanks in advance.

If the alternator is turning, then you have either a bad voltage regulator, a bad alternator, or some wiring has come loose.

I'd put a volt meter on the battery and measure voltage. Then start the car and measure voltage at around 2500 RPM. If you aren't getting around +14 volts at 2500 RPM, then your alternator may need some help.

Here's a 914 troubleshooting article, but it works for the 911 also:

Thanks to both.
Another question, here is a pic of the gauge and in red marking the light that goes on and never off.
I was told that it could be a brake light sensor, my car is a 75 and was built in Feb75.
What do you think and why it is labelled "B" under the light ?
Thanks again.

That's the brake warning light. My 73 has a switch, with a reset button, on the master cylinder used to clear that light. It is also an indicator for the hand brake.

“G” is Generator/Alternator. On my ‘75 the “B” light is the handbrake and there is a buzzer that goes off when engine is running and handbrake is engaged.

Makes sure the handbrake is pressed all the way down. Some times the sensor is very sensitive.
Let us know what you finally figure out.
Thanks and good luck

Apparently the issue is the sensor in the Brake Master cylinder. Porsche has the part but are asking me if it is a 2 cable or 1 cable, anybody know? Thanks
