Campagnolo Group 4 Wheels for 77 Widebody

I have a 77 Widebody (Non-turbo with over 300 horsepower) and I’m Interested in Campagnolo Group 4 Wheels. They are available in 9x15 + 10x15 or 8x16 + 9x16.

Group 4 is also planning a 8x17 + 10x17 inch version in the near future which I could also wait for as I’m not looking for an immediate purchase.

I’d love some advice on the handling characteristics of each options and the availability of tires for each.

I have 275-width tires on my 17x11 rear wheels. Stock 930, so a little less HP than your car. My choices for 11"-wide wheels are either 275 or 315. So not great. For 10"-wide wheels as you indicated, you're probably either running 255 or 275 width tires. Last I checked, there were 3 or 4 options in the 275 width.

Love the Campy s. They look great, seem to be light, and are a lot more affordable than other aftermarket options.

Thanks for the info. How are the 17’s on your 930 compared to 15’s or 16’s? Trying to determine the right wheel size tire combo has been tricky for me.

I think the 17s look better than the stock 16s. They fill the wheel wells better. Being Zuffenhaus (now Fikse) wheels, they are very light so not a huge increase in unsprung weight. They have a lot more grip because they're two inches wider. And steering wheel effort at parking lot speeds wasn't too much greater either. I prefer the 17s to the 16s.

If you're waiting for the 17" Group4 Campys then I'd warn to not rely on their timeline as I inquired three years ago and was told "soon". Waited a few months, didn't get a firm answer from them still, and so got something else.

Seeing as they're still not out, glad I didn't wait.
