Oil cooler fan wiring questions
I have an early 84 car with the brass tube oiler cooler. I want to install a fan and switch that that will also turn off when the ignition is turned off. I have read quite a few posts on this and have already bought the fan and some of the wiring harness and relay. i plan to use the #1 fuse on panel 3. This being said how do I go about tapping this fuse? Is double tapping safe? Do I tap into the top or bottom side of the fuse? I assume if I tap into the fuse that would mean a wire going into the fuse from the relay and another coming out for the switch in the dash.
Any comprehensive diagram would be great. I know this is supposed to be easy but the thought of an electrical fire is scary and I want to do it as safely as possible. Thanks |

Reach out to "timmy2" Dennis can make you a wiring harness complete with a relay for a switch or a thermostat or both.....and it looks totally factory complete with black plastic covering
https://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-used-parts-sale-wanted/740894-building-sc-mid-year-engine-harnesses-32.html He made me a harness with no switch/ thermostat activated using a 190F temp sensor. Relay fits in the empty spot in the fuse box. Check your owners manual for the which fuse is used for the "aux fan" or "oil cooler fan" for your cooler. I am sure it will share a fuse with a few other items. Typically, they are wired onto the lower post of the fuse. A test light will confirm
