Rennline Control Arms vs. New Bushings

Time to replace the Control arm bushings and ball joints on the 1980 911SC - I just did them on my 914 and found it pretty challenging but doable.

I'm trying to decide if i buy Bushings, Ball Joints, all the hardware, etc etc...for $400 or so

Or do i just buy the Renline control arms all already assembled and ready to go in?

Any thoughts? I'm not trying ot set up for the track or anything...just trying to tighten it back up a little...already have the turbo tie rods...struts, sway bar bushings, etc...

I guess the question is do i get any improvement with these Renline all in one control arm kits over the stock control arms?

Thanks!

Improvement? I'd say no. Original arms are excellent quality as long as they haven't been damaged. Part of the excellence of these cars: they can be kept in prime order by replacing consumables, such as bushings, ball joints, etc. John

So I guess the better question is, is the Rennline upgraded control arm kit of equal performance to a stock control arm with good (ER?) bushings?

One of my controls arms is tweaked so I need to replace it and would do new bushings at the same time. This Rennline kit would get me everything. But I want to make sure I won't regret not putting "better" bushings in.

I just ordered some of these for my ‘83 through Pelican and was surprised when they arrived to see they won’t work with my car due to the sway bar mounts. I went to the Rennline site and sure enough, they say they’re for early through-body sway bars and not the underbody type of sway bar like SCs and later (unsure of how much earlier?). Buyer beware.

If you go to their website you can choose years and they list 72-89. Might inquire on an exchange.

I noticed that as well. I don't think they offer control arms with the loop for the under-body sway bars. I don't really want to cut through my tub and buy a through body sway bar on top of these control arms.
