Has anyone seen one of these??????
Hi everyone.... I resently purchased this go-kart and after purchasing it I have found out some interesting history about the cart. I 'm worndering if anyone has more info that they may be able to share. I purchased it from the original owner who bought it in germany from a Porsche Dealership in the early 1980's(He thicks it was 84' or 85')and imported it into the us. It originally sold for $4500 bucks US. This thing has a honda 4 stroke motor, real suspension, rack-n-pinion steering, 2 speeds foward 1 reverse, disc brakes, all lights including directionals and brake, and get this... it actually has a real foot actuated clutch. It came with the Factory porsche manual but unfortunatly the manual got destroyed in shipping. I have contacted Porsche and the tell me that the manual is no longer available because it is not a stock item. Does anyone know where I can get a manual????????????? Or at least a good copy of one? Does anyone have one of these things or at least some info on it like........How many were made? Were they available in the US? What's it worth? Thanks Paul

I must agree with bell, it's not wirth anything. I'll give you a 500 and will be there in an hour to take it off your hands. I'd hate to see it sit at your curb till trash day.
![]() Seriously, that is one cool toy and one that I've been looking for, for a long time. My son would love something like that. He had a Fisher Price dune buggy, but could use something faster. FP made a Porsche Turbo battery car around the same tuime this beauty was made, but it was no where neer as nice. Either Pano or Excellence had an article a few months ago about a small race car the Porsche built for kids; I think it was a 908? Has anyone seen anything similar to these Porsche toys with maybe less of a price tag?

OK That is the coolest thing I have seen in a LONG time.
I bought my daughter a 911 pedal car at a garage sale this summer for $5 Cdn, but it needs a little TLC and isn't near as cool as that! Shawn

My information shows that these cars were hand assembled in Weissach by the racing department, and a total of 224 were made including a special platinum one for Ferry's grandson with a higher output engine, lightweight bumpers, sport suspension and lowered by 20mm. A low mileage example recently traded at Barret-Jackson for $145K, but they can be found at Pomona for about $300 bucks.

Cool!
Bodywork looks kinda realistic as well ( not the windshield though) Very nice for a first Porsche. Imagine a five year old boasting at school with his Porsche...

If that was the Speedster, it would be really valuable, but since it is the garden variety cab, well, I have a friend in Westchester County NY who could be by in a couple of hours to save you the embarrasment of hauling it to the curb.
I'm always ready to help a fellow Pelican. ![]()
