Cabrio Rear seat headache

Hi All, I'm new to this forum and I'm stuck with this issue so any assistance would be appreciated. I just bought a slantnose Cabrio project and the rear seats will not go completely up with the roof down.
Are the rear seats narrower on the cabrios? I think it may have coupe or targa rear seats???

welcome to the forum! what year's your car? Is it possible it's both a slantnose AND a cab conversion (i.e. the rear seats NEVER went all the way up with the top down)?

And send some photos. On normal factory cabs, the rear seats go all the way up with the top down (as well as with the boot installed), so something is off...

The cab seats are shorter. If you have a converted targa, there's your answer.
Pics would be helpful

Cab seats end up in an awkward upright position when up. This is normal. But they should come up all the way to where they lock in place. There is currently a slant nose cab on BAT. You can see in the pics there how cab seats should be- they don’t go up as far as coupe seats.

Thanks a heap, it’s a factory 1984 cabrio with a non original colour interior so it looks like the rear seats are probably coupe as they hit the top outer sides

unless you REALLY want to make folks suffer in the back "seat" -- you might want to consider some sort of rear seat delete as a solution -- see, e.g. Appbiz Rear Seat Delete Fit ?
